We raise Broad Breasted Whites as our Pastured Turkey. When they arrive on the farm just northwest of Houston, TX as day old poults (baby turkeys!). We put them in our brooder house to keep them nice and warm until they are able to move outside. After a few weeks, depending on the weather, we move them out to pasture. Once out on the pasture, that’s where they remain, rotating into fresh clean Texas pastures every few days.
All of our pasture-raised turkeys thrived this year with a fairly consistent size between 18 & 23 lbs. We sell all our birds whole at a cost of approximately $6 per pound, making this a truly affordable option this holiday season!
We sell our pastured turkey FROZEN whole, so be sure to leave time for thawing in your refrigerator. Standard guidelines suggest to plan for about 24 hours per 4-5 lbs. So, for our average 20 lb bird, you should plan on 5 days!
Giblets and the neck are included inside the cavity.
